Wintergreen Farm 2014 Christmas Season Newsletter
Hello All. Pumpkin Fall Fest at Wintergreen Farm is over and we would like to thank all of you who came out to make it a success. We had a great time and hope you did also. We appreciate you so much!
We are getting ready for our Christmas season and will be open November 28 – December 21 (unless we sell out before December 21. Please check the website blog for farm updates). As usual, we open at 9:00 AM the day after Thanksgiving which is Friday, November 28th. Our hours of operation After the Friday after Thanksgiving day will be:
Tuesday – Friday 2 pm – 5 pm Saturdays 9 am – 5 pm Sundays 11 am – 5 pm
Please visit our website www.wintergreenchristmastreefarm.com for more general information. We are open when it rains, but please check the website should there be ice. We will keep you updated on the front page, so check it often.
We have made a few changes. Look for the new hay ride loading area, the area for loading trees not being tied down, the third cash register for cash and checks to expedite paying out in the gift shop and bring quarters to feed the goats.
We have plenty of trees of all sizes (5 ½’ – 10 1/2’) for your choosing. We have selected and tagged the trees for sale for this year. Please only cut a tree that has a tag on it. Our precut Noble and Fraser Fir trees will arrive the week of Thanksgiving and will be placed immediately into water to keep them fresh.
For those of you who are new to our Christmas season, here is some information for you once you arrive at the farm. The hayride is free and will take you into the woods and out to the tree field, where you will be let off to look for that special Christmas tree. You will be given a bow saw to cut down your tree. Only trees with a tag are to be cut down. We ask that you cut the tree trunk as close to the ground as possible. This helps during the year when mowing and accidental run over of a big stump by the lawnmower. (Remember if you cut it higher off the ground, the tree height will be lower than what is on the tag) After you have cut your tree down, bring it to the driveway, tear off the LOWER part of the tag and bring back to the gift shop. You can ride the hayride back to the gift shop. Your tree will be brought back to the gift shop area where it will be placed on the shaker to shake out the lose needles and then baled. After paying for your tree in the gift shop, you can bring your vehicle to the loading area, present your lower tag part to the attendant who will match it to the tag on your tree and it will then be ready to be loaded. Please double check your tag number to the tag number on the tree, so that your special tree goes to your home.
We hope you will spend some time in the gift shop while waiting for the hayride or waiting for your tree to be brought back and prepared for loading. We will have Christmas decorating items, fresh handmade wreaths and fresh garland for sale in the gift shop. There will be cold drinks, water, Capri-sun, popcorn and chips for sale also.
We have activities for the children that consist of a free playground with swing set/slide, hay slide, hay jump, tire swing, petting goats and tether ball. We sell a wrist band for $5.00 per child to go through the pallet maze, ride the kiddie train and play the bull horn ring toss.
Our number one commitment is to make your Christmas a pleasant and memorable experience for your entire family. Please tell your friends and family about our Christmas Tree Farm and bring them with you for a great Christmas experience. We are very excited to see all of you! Come on out to Wintergreen Farm and begin or continue your family tradition.
We appreciate each of you and your families and hope you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
