Trees To Texas State Capitol

We are Very Proud to announce that Wintergreen Farm’s own FRANCIS FREDERICK is the 2019/2020 President of the Texas Christmas Tree Growers Association. Prior to August Francis was the President-Elect and was responsible for organizing the association’s annual conference, which was a great success and held the end of August.

As President and representing Wintergreen Farm, it will be the farm’s privilege to provide The Texas State Capitol (House, Senate, Governor’s Mansion) with Virginia Pine trees grown on the farm, Fraser Firs and Wreaths on December 2nd. Francis, Kim, Howie, Robin, Abby, Anna & Ava will present the trees and wreaths at a celebration on the Capitol steps.

Please congratulate Francis during your visit to the farm this season, as he leads the Texas Christmas Tree Growers Association.

2017 Season is right around the corner!!

Hello Everyone! As usual, we have been busy at the farm all year. Seedlings were planted in February, Spring trimming has been completed and weed control and mowing has been maintained. We have had several good summer rains that we appreciate so much and the trees really liked. Tree growth has been fantastic this year and the trees look great!!

Before you know it, Pumpkin Fall Fest and Christmas will be here. We will be open for Pumpkin Fall Fest October 7 – 29 and for Christmas we open the day after Thanksgiving, November 24 – December 23, (unless sold out early). See our dates and times of operation on the website. We hope you will come to Wintergreen Farm to buy your pumpkins and pick out your special Christmas tree.

We will send out our Fall newsletter in September and our Christmas newsletter the beginning of November. Please sign up for the newsletters here on the website if you have not done so yet.

Remember to check our website for any updates the day you plan to come to the farm.

Hope the rest of your summer is great and we will see soon!!

2016 Season is Here!!

Wow! This year has absolutely flown by! Fall is here and Christmas is around the corner.

We began the year in January planting our seedlings to replace trees cut in the field. We were very happy to have the Boyscouts from Troop 293 located in Anna, Texas volunteer to learn about Christmas trees and participate in planting seedlings, picking up tree stumps, and removing tree tags. They did an outstanding job and we extend our appreciation to them.

We completed our first of two tree trimmings in May and thanks to all the spring rain had plenty of tree growth and many mowings to keep the field manicured. We will do the second trimming & hand picking & tagging of trees for sale this season soon.

We will open October 8 -30 for our annual Pumpkin Fall Fest, October 8 -27 for field trips and November 25 – December 23 (unless we sell out earlier) for our choose & cut & pre-cut Christmas trees. See our dates and times of operation and please always check our website the day you plan to visit, in case we post any information about the weather & operations.

Our Christmas 2014 Newsletter

Wintergreen Farm 2014 Christmas Season Newsletter

Hello All. Pumpkin Fall Fest at Wintergreen Farm is over and we would like to thank all of you who came out to make it a success. We had a great time and hope you did also. We appreciate you so much!

We are getting ready for our Christmas season and will be open November 28 – December 21 (unless we sell out before December 21. Please check the website blog for farm updates). As usual, we open at 9:00 AM the day after Thanksgiving which is Friday, November 28th. Our hours of operation After the Friday after Thanksgiving day will be:

Tuesday – Friday   2 pm – 5 pm              Saturdays   9 am – 5 pm                 Sundays   11 am – 5 pm

Please visit our website for more general information. We are open when it rains, but please check the website should there be ice. We will keep you updated on the front page, so check it often.

We have made a few changes. Look for the new hay ride loading area, the area for loading trees not being tied down, the third cash register for cash and checks to expedite paying out in the gift shop and bring quarters to feed the goats.

We have plenty of trees of all sizes (5 ½’ – 10 1/2’) for your choosing. We have selected and tagged the trees for sale for this year. Please only cut a tree that has a tag on it. Our precut Noble and Fraser Fir trees will arrive the week of Thanksgiving and will be placed immediately into water to keep them fresh.

For those of you who are new to our Christmas season, here is some information for you once you arrive at the farm. The hayride is free and will take you into the woods and out to the tree field, where you will be let off to look for that special Christmas tree. You will be given a bow saw to cut down your tree. Only trees with a tag are to be cut down. We ask that you cut the tree trunk as close to the ground as possible. This helps during the year when mowing and accidental run over of a big stump by the lawnmower. (Remember if you cut it higher off the ground, the tree height will be lower than what is on the tag) After you have cut your tree down, bring it to the driveway, tear off the LOWER part of the tag and bring back to the gift shop. You can ride the hayride back to the gift shop. Your tree will be brought back to the gift shop area where it will be placed on the shaker to shake out the lose needles and then baled. After paying for your tree in the gift shop, you can bring your vehicle to the loading area, present your lower tag part to the attendant who will match it to the tag on your tree and it will then be ready to be loaded. Please double check your tag number to the tag number on the tree, so that your special tree goes to your home.

We hope you will spend some time in the gift shop while waiting for the hayride or waiting for your tree to be brought back and prepared for loading. We will have Christmas decorating items, fresh handmade wreaths and fresh garland for sale in the gift shop. There will be cold drinks, water, Capri-sun, popcorn and chips for sale also.

We have activities for the children that consist of a free playground with swing set/slide, hay slide, hay jump, tire swing, petting goats and tether ball. We sell a wrist band for $5.00 per child to go through the pallet maze, ride the kiddie train and play the bull horn ring toss.

Our number one commitment is to make your Christmas a pleasant and memorable experience for your entire family. Please tell your friends and family about our Christmas Tree Farm and bring them with you for a great Christmas experience. We are very excited to see all of you! Come on out to Wintergreen Farm and begin or continue your family tradition.

We appreciate each of you and your families and hope you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Francis and Kim Frederick
